Event Details

The Portico Library & Gallery and RSA are currently undertaking a Study of the Portico, reviewing past, present and future activities, and considering potential aims and objectives.

This study builds on the work undertaken by Anna Lee FRSA who organised a Members’ Survey with Proprietors. Presentations will be provided by Edward Thorp, Viv Long-Ferguson, RSA and Alison Berry FRSA, all proprietors (members) of the Portico Library & Gallery.

On 27 January 2010 at 6pm (until 8pm) there will be a presentation outlining the content and criteria for the Report and initial short-term and long-term recommendations. This event will include an opportunity for members and other interested parties to talk through the initial findings of the Study, an outline of the approach and potential next steps for the Portico.

There will also be an opportunity to network with other Proprietors, RSA Fellows and other invited guests. The event is free and refreshments will be provided but you will need to book to attend. If you require further information contact the Portico Library.

This event will provide an opportunity to learn more about the study, the collaboration between the RSA and Portico as well as an opportunity to share your views and shape the future of the Portico.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Portico.

The Portico Library & Gallery

The Portico Library and Gallery opened in 1806 as a Library and Newsroom and still occupies its original site. Its mainly 19th century collection is accessed by Members as well as researchers in the UK and abroad.

The Library continues to flourish as a hub of cultural activity and its exhibition gallery sits under the impressive Georgian glass and plaster dome.

The Library also hosts a thriving and active program of events throughout the year, that are open to members and the public generally.

Apologies but The Portico does not provide disabled access.
